My research focuses on the intersection of violence, social inequality, and health dynamics, with an emphasis on reproductive rights and gender-based violence in Latin America.
I am an Associate Professor (Docent) in Sociology with the Department of Sociology at Stockholm University. Before this, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Sociology and Center for Innovation in Global Health at Stanford University, and the Department of Global Public Health at Karolinska Institute. I have been a guest researcher with Columbia University and the College of Mexico. I earned my doctorate in Sociological Demography from the Department of Sociology at Stockholm University in December 2021.
In 2025, I was awarded a €1.6M Starting Grant from the European Research Council for the project SeRO: Sexual and Reproductive Outcomes of Violent Crime in Mexico.
As of 2026, I am an elected member of the Young Academy of Sweden.
